yakman has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I'm trying to send data from a webpage securely over the internet(i.e., credit card transactions) for a business, and http just doesn't seem to be the safest way to go. Does anyone know how to interface with another machine using https? I've looked through all the perl books I own and even some I don't, and I don't see any mention of how to handle this stuff anywhere. Help would be greatly appreciated, ladies and gents. If anyone can solve this problem, I'm hoping you can.

    Have you looked at Net::SSLeay?
