Actually, I did ask (before I actually started using 5.10). His response was that he doesn't maintain it because he doesn't do much Perl coding any longer but I'm welcome to download his source and compile it. This was harder than expected since there is much in the way of instructions (hence this thread). I was a bit disappointing (because I'm lazy) at the time but hey, he doesn't owe me anything.
