I noticed that today, at the top of my CB nodelet, I had a message stating "You have X more messages in your message inbox"; I'm about 99.999% sure this wasn't there yesterday, despite the fact that I did have messages in my inbox. While this is a nice feature, the problem is that all X of my messages are currently set 'archived', so I would think that they shouldn't be counted in this message. Of course, from what I've seen, non-archived messages are going to be shown to you anyway in the CB box, so...

If you have no archived /msgs, and 10 or less /msgs, you won't see that indicator. If you have any archived /msgs, or more than 10 unarchived /msgs, you will.

Personally, I'm quite happy with the arrangement.

Actually, you see this message if and only if you have 10 or more messages no matter what archive/unarchive state they are in. Just having an archived message isn't enough to trigger this message.

I like the behavior that jcwren describes better. Though I'd rather have Plus 1+5 messages displayed: shorter text and with the count of archived messages separated from the count of unarchived messages that aren't being displayed because you have more than 10 of them.
