sdoyle has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

All, I'm looking for a way to create dynamic flow charts in excel. I have been using the Spreadsheet::WriteExcel module to create a nice workbook, but now I would like to enhance it a little. I have a process which is driven by a control file. I would like to use the settings from this control file to drive the creation of a flow chart. Has anyone done something like this or have any ideas?

I have never used it before, but Graph::Flowchart can create ascii or SVG flowcharts.

You'll want to manipulate the Excel file via the Win32:: namespace. In other words, let Excel do what Excel does well.

    My criteria for good software:
    1. Does it work?
    2. Can someone else come in, make a change, and be reasonably certain no bugs were introduced?
