I don't know how to resolve your make test problem, but maybe you can avoid it by installing the binary distribution. It looks like it is available from http://packages.ubuntu.com/intrepid/perl/libnet-ssh-perl

Thank you for your response. libnet-ssh-perl was already installed prior to my attempts and therefore was not a player in resolving my problem.	[reply]
