Firstly can I ask if this is a transparent gif? Secondly your post suggests you are trying to use composite but the example you have given is using compare.

Also, are you trying to achieve this via Perl? I see no mention of Perl code or the Image::Magick module. If not please mark the question as off topic. See How do I post a question effectively?

    Hi,

    Thanks for the replies guys. Managed to get around it by using:

    convert image.gif image.jpg

    (i.e converting them to JPG, before shrinking and watermaking :))
