how to find the free amount of space in rw

How to find how much space is available free in DVD / CD RW. Is there any module / method available to do it ?

Requirement is, according to the remaining free space need to decide writing again in that CD / DVD - RW.

Perhaps testing state of cd/dvd and Burning ISOs to maximize DVD space to get you started. Martin	[reply]

I'd just parse the 4th column of `df -h <mountpoint>`. About the decision of wether to write or not to the DVD, if the problem is optimizing so that you waste as little space as possible then it's possible that the problem falls into the Knapsack category.	[reply] [d/l]
