jseager has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:
I have done a good bit of work cleaning up the 500+ preceding lines and "other" lines I don't need to end up with this. What I am left with are the 2 lines at the top (Title & Column headings) and the 2 lines at the bottom (Copyright info) and the important info in the middle (the body info). My body info is relatively consistent with the exception of the number of lines in the Document Description.
I am at a loss on the best way to get this into an array or even if an array is the best way to get to my ultimate goal of a simple plain text email report daily Below is a small snippet of the report I am working with the test lines will often be up to 4 lines deep (max), the order number (which ALWAYS follows the text field) is never ore or less than 7 characters and the two date fields are consistently in their proper date format. If any of that helps.
Many thanks.Daily Listing of Reports GW Posted Date CRS Publication Date Title Text 01/14/2009 12/09/2008 China-U.S. Relations: Current Issues and Implications for U.S. Policy RL33877 01/14/2009 12/31/2008 Greenhouse Gas Emission Drivers: Population, Economic Development and Growth, and Energy Use RL33970 01/14/2009 12/30/2008 School Construction, Modernization, Renovation, and Repair Issues: 110th Congress RS22894 © Copyright GalleryWatch.com, Inc.
