At first I thought I had inadvertently turned off the Monk pictures in the 'User Settings.' So I went and checked there, and everything is just fine. Then I logged out, and went to the Monestary Gates. Still no monks. Where did the pictures go? I noticed this last night. I know that my user settings are set correctly, but I still don't see the random 'fun monk' picture in the upper right of every page.
Just in case, I even turned off the pictres and back on again, but that didn't work either. I've even checked other computers to see if it was something specific to mine.
Monks, come back... please!

It took me a little while to figure out the issue. I added filtering to the linkNode code so users couldn't put pictures as the titles of their nodes. That resulted in filtering out the img tags on the monks. I added an option to override the filtering when linkNode is called from a superdoc.
