Everyone seems to have their own scheme--and they are often driven by whim or marketing rather than logic these days. See Re: Versioning modules in a package for one scheme that has some merit.

Examine what is said, not who speaks -- Silence betokens consent -- Love the truth but pardon error.

In the absence of evidence, opinion is indistinguishable from prejudice.
