To those new to programming Perl is Power. I can express myself in a month in Fortran or COBOL, in a week in pascal or C, in three days in C++. Yes, I'm old. I used to take my source deck down to the keypunch operator. I've kept up well. But . . .

In a day, or an hour, I can express myself in Perl. I thought I knew how to do this stuff. Now I know that I will be forever learning.

I bow.

A novice once came to the master. - Master, what is the secret to achieve the Perl-nature? - The secret is never to keep all of your underwear in the same drawer +. The novice, by then more than a bit pissed off at the master's cryptic + replies, said: - I'm sorry, Master, I'm not enlightened enough to understand you. Wha +t did you mean by that? To which the master replied with a grin: - How the hell am I supposed to know? This elicited a wrathful response from the novice: - I don't know why I'm wasting my time in this stupid monastery. This +Zen crap is all nonsense anyway. As the novice went to pack his bags, the master nodded and said: - Such a wise thing to say. This one has truly achived the Perl-nature +.
      ...and the novice understood :o)

    I bow to you, sir.
Please don't. I'm just a humble novice on a path toward further light.
