Experience is supposed to be somewhat proportional to age so your sig is in contradiction with your excuse ;-)

XP is indeed set up in part to encourage voting but (mostly) doesn't dictate how or on what criteria people vote.

Voting a node down because it amuses you is probably fairly unusual (I'll try not to be amusing here). Voting a node down because it is annoying is probably fairly common, but may not be a good criteria - an annoying node can be correct and enlightening.

I think I must have articulated myself spectacularly badly - what I meant to say (but patently failed so to do) was that I vote a node down iff it annoys me in some way. I thank you for both your concern and consideration, but I actually do humour big style - tho' you probably can't tell, since I try to keep it well hidden - thus (if I see it:-) a node that is both enlightening and humorous invariably gets my vote ... and should get more (than the allotted single vote). A user level that continues to overstate my experience :-))	[reply]
