Neural Networks and Particle Swarm Optimization

gbotzz has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi, I am interested in learning about using Perl with Neural Networks and specifically trainin Neural Nets with Particle Swarm Optimization as opposed to Genetic Algorithms. I have been looking over the AI:PSO and AI:ParticleSwarmOptimization modules. I am wanting to use these together with predicting the financial markets, and I was wondering if anyone else had done any work with this and if so are there any good examples of Perl code and neural nets or particle swarm optimization. I've scoured Google and haven't found much. :( Thanks!

I was wondering if anyone else had done any work with this I don't think so or the financial markets would not be in such turmoil as they are today. Actually many academic papers have shown that Neural Nets and PSO are great options for financial prediction. Unfortunately, afterwards those people disappear. - probably to open hedge funds. lol	[reply]
