My position has long been that I won't add somebody to a privileged group unless they have somebody active from that group (and gods belong to all groups) who agrees to mentor them (along with the documented requirements). In the case of pmdev, I guess I'll have to define "active" very loosely since jdporter can't mentor everybody. :)

Anyone interested in joining pmdev should demonstrate an eagerness for tedium and frustration by actually finding old discussions about how the work of pmdev is done.

    I've been coding professionally for 11 years so far. That says nothing about skill or talent, but it does indicate an unhealthy tolerance for tedium and frustration.
