I save many copies, to keep node numbers...and use the "print w replies" link. Does this rebuild a new page, or is it local javascript/css stuff?

    No JavaScript. It results in a new HTTP request. (The different URL in the address bar is a dead giveaway.) The returned page is different in more than just CSS.
