I need to monitor a set of files in a directory for log messages, If any file has been modified or deleted I should get a indication that Files are modified, do we have any predefined modules to do this tasks?

    Linux::Inotify2 (for Linux, as the name implies). There's a similar one for Windows  (I just can't remember the name — but someone else will tell)update: looked it up: Win32::ChangeNotify.

    pktrain posted some related sample code a while ago, which is certainly worth looking at...
