anbutechie has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi,
I have successfully installed activeperl 5.8.
Then I have downloaded Win32::IEAutomation module from CPAN and installed by running the makefile.pl which is placed in IEAutomation folder.
I have got the following message,
D:\Perl modules\Win32-IEAutomation-0.5>perl Makefile.pl
Checking if your kit is complete...
Looks good
Writing Makefile for Win32::IEAutomation
But, I don't see the .pm file in C:\perl\site\lib\win32\ and C:\perl\lib\win32\

Regards,
Anbarasu

    Check out the relevant tutorials.

    When you're up to your ass in alligators, it's difficult to remember that your original purpose was to drain the swamp.
      ...and also reading the module README - in which you'll find that there are further steps (over & above generating the make script, that is)...

      A user level that continues to overstate my experience :-))

    Since you are using ActivePerl, I would recommend that you use their ppm (Perl Package Manager) program for the install rather than dealing with running make files, etc. I just looked on my system (version 5.10) and its in Active State repository. I think its also in Perl 5.8. Start ppm via the start menu or type "ppm" at command prompt.

    I don't know if the D:\ was a typo or not, but run this from the C:\ drive where your Perl installation is.
