More specifically I am referring to using libcurl via WWW::Curl::Easy in a perl script.

It behaves differently between win32 and linux, on the former it is impossible for me to figure out how to see the curl progress bar (all I see is the text from the FTP server). On the latter I have no issues, I can use either the graphical progress bar or the standard perl status bar by setting the options.
