in reply to Distributed "event" broadcasting?

Do you need the event manager to handle network management also for you.?
you don't want network management to be handled by a separate module and event management by a separate module?
Will RPC/SOAP help you in this approach?.

Apologies if I'm being a bit dense on this one, but what does "network management" mean in this context?

Handling communication between server and clients over the network.

Ah - thanks for the clarification.

I was barking up the wrong tree entirely, because I could only think of "network management" in the sense of "Simple Network Management Protocol" (SNMP). In that context it's more about fault detection and correction, which doesn't make a great deal of sense when talking about distributed event notification.

I can rest easy again. ;-)
