Or you could use a regular expression to do what you want:

my @vals = $ARGV[ 0 ] =~ /../g;
print @vals;
[download]

Don't forget about the last char in strings of odd length: `my @vals = $ARGV[ 0 ] =~ /..\|.$/g; print @vals;` [download]	[reply] [d/l]
