Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I love the Sniffer-HTTP module but unfortunately it doesn't allow me to test any HTTPS URLs. Does anyone know of a module that would do this?

Thanks, -Paul

The point of HTTPS is that nobody can sniff it. There's some tools that allow sniff HTTPS by replacing server certificates, like ettercap, but it's detectable by clients and if they checking certificates they wouldn't work.

    Hello,

I use a piece of software called Charles Web Debugging Proxy. Its not free, but its pretty cheap and its java so it works everywhere (I use it on windows and ubuntu).

Has pretty much every feature you'd need for traffic sniffing of web apps.
