Imager setting TIFF tags

rray has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Given libtiff has been built with custom tags, how do I set these custom tags when creating an image? Is there a better perl method for creating/manipulating TIFF images? Thanks Richard

Image::ExifTool seems quite performant in getting and setting tags and meta-information for all kind of image-formats. CountZero A program should be light and agile, its subroutines connected like a string of pearls. The spirit and intent of the program should be retained throughout.
