radamdeys has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi, I am new to perl. I am using Perl built on HP-UX for Itanium and PA-RISC. I am in urgent requirement of two modules from CPAN, with the same/similar functionality of AcitveState::Promt and ActiveState::Menu. Refer links below http://docs.activestate.com/activeperl/5.10/lib/ActiveState/Prompt.html http://docs.activestate.com/activeperl/5.10/lib/ActiveState/Menu.html I tried searching in CPAN but i wasn't able to hit upon one :( I am sure that there might be modules with similar functionality. I am using "Term::Prompt" and planning to create my a new module for the requirement, I would take care not to use "Urgent" in the forum.     Hi, are you using Activestate perl on HPUX (yes they do offer it)? If so, have you tried installing the modules with ppm?

    If you're using GNU perl and you're porting an application from windows, you may be in for some work rewriting code to use the modules suggested elsewhere in this thread.

    BTW, some of the monks really don't like seeing 'URGENT' in node titles.

    HP is distributing ActivePerl 5.8.8 with HP-UX, so you may already have the modules. If you are running an older version of HP-UX then you may want to download the latest ActivePerl from the HP site.
