"And, if I do X, what is the resulting behavior?"

"We haven't defined that."

"And, if I do X, what is the resulting behavior?"

    • Either: "We've specified that it will do Y, so conforming implementations will do that."
    • Or "We haven't specified that, so the behavour will be defined by the implementations."

Examine what is said, not who speaks -- Silence betokens consent -- Love the truth but pardon error.
"Science is about questioning the status quo. Questioning authority".
In the absence of evidence, opinion is indistinguishable from prejudice.
We haven't specified that, so the behavour will be defined by the implementations.
That's typically labelled as implementation defined. Which is not the same as undefined behaviour.
