error in loading shared libraries

calvinlyp has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

hi all,

i am using ubuntu 8.10. i was trying to run a script however i got an error below:

/usr/bin/sharc: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++-libc6.
+2-2.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

is it that i miss out some installation of libraries?

is it that i miss out some installation of libraries? might be, search for existence of such package in your system with your package manager. Install if it doesn't exist, be careful if you are about to install this new package, because it may trigger of lot other dependency libraries and applications up-gradation, which may at times make the system unstable?! what kind of perl script is getting you this error, give us some idea about it Vivek -- In accordance with the prarabdha of each, the One whose function it is to ordain makes each to act. What will not happen will never happen, whatever effort one may put forth. And what will happen will not fail to happen, however much one may seek to prevent it. This is certain. The part of wisdom therefore is to stay quiet.	[reply]

So, do you have libstdc++-libc6.+2-2.so.3 installed?	[reply]
