I have not found any thing(for Linux) in perl that is intuitive. But I have found a C program that I use. It is at http://www.wvware.com/.
I would like to hear if anyone else has done it with perl rather than have a system call.

Thank you. I went ahead and downloaded it. This may help me. As it is I would really like to be able to do this in PERL. Definately this is a start though.

A old ChOas's post pointed me to LAOLA (only perl4?)
And I know iguane obtained good result with Win32::OLE(see his post
Some people use OLE::Storage too...
Anyway a Supersearch will give you a lot of answers.
(Check this post for example...)
