If it was the first of the two things you mention then http://search.cpan.org/~mjevans/DBD-ODBC-1.22/ODBC.pm#odbc_ignore_named_placeholders could be used to ignore the colons but I don't think it is.

    I just added new links to sys.servers without the colon and it fixed the issue.
