This may sound trite but often the advantages and disadvantages of a programming language are the same depending on you point of view.

    Trite in general, perhaps, but, in this particular case, TIMTOWTDI is the greatest strength of Perl to those who like the flexibility and its greatest weakness to those who want to see one and only one way to do anything.
