dmf4171 has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I'm trying to use the Perl-Ldap to bind to Active Directory from a Windows client. Anonymous binds are forbidden as is sending an unencrypted password over the network. This seems like it ought to be really easy but I've tried several things and always hit a wall. Does anybody out there know of a simple, straightforward way of doing this? I don't want to install OpenSSL or anything else that's not part of "standard Windows". It seems that GSSAPI would be the way to go but Net-LDAP doc says it doesn't support that mechanism. It does support CRAM-MD5 but Active Directory doesn't. Thanks, David
