I suppose that the father is the C language here because the Perl interpretor is written in C. I don't know if that makes Larry the Mother of Perl :)

To answer the original question: there is no hatred of C in perlmonks. C is not a scripting language and programming is often just scripting. Hoping Tom is not around :) So it happens that people can be criticized in perlmonks when they would be better using any scripting language (preferably Perl)
