While reviewing my settings, I noticed some related items:

My suggestion is that we could expand the Sections nodelet to contain all the links in the navigation bar. Then monks could use one or the other.

It appears that we'd just have to add a few links, such as the homepage, log user out, Super Search, etc. (Note: I'm aware that I can use the Free(?Personal?) Nodelet to accomplish the trick.)

If (and only if) it's worth touching the Sections nodelet, then I'd suggest you make it two columns to conserve vertical space. (I'd suggest the same for Find Nodes, Information, and Other Users, but that might be a subject for a future post.)

I believe all of the links in the top navigation bar have a copy in one of the three nodelets among Sections, Find Nodes, and Leftovers. As a special case, Leftovers links to your homenode and logout, Find Nodes links to Super Search. (Leftovers, however, has lots of useless links to pages outside perlmonks, which I'm hiding by css right now. Maybe they should be factored out to a separate nodelet.)
