Hi, I have been using Matlab to solve polynomial equations.
Does Perl offer an easy way to do this as well?

You should search CPAN for any modules that meet your needs.
In this case, check out Math::Polynomial::Solve.
It can find the roots of polynomial up to the quartic.

    I don't think so.

I don't remember Matlab's capabilities in detail, but I believe they have sophisticated methods for finding good numerical approximations of factorizations for polynomials of high degree. I doubt that anybody has coded these techniques in Perl, and even if they did I think that Matlab is a better language for this kind of work.

performing a CPAN search on polynomial reveals some modules you can use.
