Well this still isn't a perl question. Did you search on how to achieve this? It is covered in the help documentation Microsoft Word has. Within the Visual Basic editor, so from word click 'Tools'->'Macro'->'Visual Basic Editor' and search for 'shell' within 'Help'->'Microsoft visual basic help', or search MSDN.
