Check your repository list. (in the package manager Edit->preferences or Ctrl-P) It looks like the ActiveState Package Repository has what you are looking for. If you need to add it: `http://ppm4.activestate.com/MSWin32-86/5.10/1004/package.xml` [download]	[reply] [d/l]

IMO, your friend could have been more friendly ... by recommending Strawberry perl - then you wouldn't have half as many problems. Having said that, I wonder what you mean by ...100 packages available to me... - AFAIR, there wouldn't be many more you'd be able to see when, using the web browser of your choice, browsing the AS help pages - which document the installed (c/w available for download) library packages. A user level that continues to overstate my experience :-))	[reply]

First go to View menu and select "All Packages" (or press Ctrl+1) to see all avaiable packages (not just installed). Second Edit->Preferences (or Ctrl+P) to add more repositories. Go to Repositories tab and add Suggested items (like bribes, uwinnipeg etc.)	[reply]

Hello, I don't know if anyone here will be able to help me but its worth a shot! I've downloaded activeperl and the ppm as recommended to me by a friend. This sounds like a mistake: "and the ppm". That comes standard with the ActiveState installation. You don't have to do anything special to get this. If you open a command window and type PPM, this should launch a GUI version of Perl Package Manager (PPM). If it doesn't then navigate to: C:\Perl\bin and try again. I suspect that something is wrong in your path or environment names. If that doesn't work, then unistall, reboot(yeah, its a Windows thing), then re-install, then re-boot (yeah, its a Windows thing). You don't have a "clean installation" if this ppm doesn't work ( there should actually be a menu in your Start Programs for PPM). Yes, there are ways to "patch" this and make what you have work. But at the beginning this is in my opinion, inadvisable. Start over, pay attention to what the installation thing says AND make sure that you are downloading the correct version for your machine! This thing should just "work out of the box", meaning PPM should show about 11K+ of modules. Be patient as it might take some minutes for PPM to sync with the repositories.	[reply]
