By emailing the list you have; the very same list the hackers have. Because some of the emails are no longer valid doesn't mean we throw our hands up. It troubles me that this is such a difficult problem. I continue to be asked, "How do I email a large list? What do we say? Why bother using hashed passwords- plaintext is fine!" I've addressed all of these. Am I really the only one that thinks this is a bungled attempt at protecting monks? It feels like I am the only one who really cares and wants to go the extra mile on this instead of just blaming the victim, hand-waving and declaring the idea of notifications NP hard.	[reply]

But... that means that it will be technically impossible to notify all users. Yet you'll continue to rail against what you yourself admit is an impossibility.
