When Perl 6 is "old school" I imagine Perl 5 would be what Perl 4 is today :-)

I am not sure I want to think about perl6. You can call me "old school" and "hard core" all you like, but I just don't get it.	[reply]

No. Perl 6 is a very different language than Perl 5. So Perl 5 and Perl 6 will live side by side. And there wasn't a CPAN in the Perl 4 era.	[reply]

My issue with perl 6 is that surely a general belief will (or maybe has arisen already) that at some point in the future it will be necessary to migrate all old code from perl 5 to perl 6 or at least move it into the legacy bin. I know that this is not true but I fear that perl6 will turn out to be the death of perl - at least in the corporate world.	[reply]
