Encountered my first computer in 1956, and by 1959 had substantial use time on a Bendix G-15. Experienced at the OS low-level on many different processors up to and including 8080, but my work was at a higher level after about 1980. I've used Perl since the early 1980s, but I'm stuck at v5.8.9 for several years now on MS platforms - XP, Vista, W7. ...and Oh, by the way, I'm 75, and use Perl for my own bag of tricks and for a small charitable organization where I volunteer.
