I know how to make a link to a specific node (i.e. this link goes to the Snippets) but how do I link to a specific node? I am trying to link to node 7508, but the name of the node (Re: An Elegance Question) is shared by multiple nodes. How can I generate a link directly to the correct node? Putting the title returns the "Duplicates Found" page, and putting the number returns a "Not Found"

I wandered over to everything2, and noticed it's not a problem there. So I looked at the link here and there, and the only difference I found is that there, all the nodes are node=maneornumber and here named nodes are node= and other nodes are node_id=

So maybe if they just change the configuration to make them the same, then we can link in other nodes.

    It's something to try, anyway....

Actually things work exactly the same way over there.... they just happen to have node titles that correspond to a lot of the numbers. So node=1978 might have a writeup saying the year Tim Vroom was born or other noteworthy events... if you try higher numbers you'll see that you're likely to get a "not found".

That's something I would like to see added though and it should be coming in the future.

That should say "I know how to make a link to a specifically named node". For some reason, I cannot edit my own original post above.
