in reply to XP vs Win 2000 - installing modules - rights

Perhaps you could give us an example of the 'problems' you are experiencing, you know, what you are trying to do, error messages you recieve? Have you read the documentation of the Perl distribution you are using, or for PPM or cpan?

This sort of thing when I try to install a module.
RCLAMP/Text-Glob-0.08.tar.gz nmake -- NOT OK Warning (usually harmless): 'YAML' not installed, will not store persi +stent stat e Running make test Can't test without successful make Running make install Make had returned bad status, install seems impossible Running make for M/ME/MERLYN/File-Finder-0.53.tar.gz Has already been unwrapped into directory C:\Perl\cpan\build\File-Fi +nder-0.53- h3x2hk
      nmake -- NOT OK

So it seems you have no nmake installed. Is that correct? If yes, install it, and try again.

Perl 6 - links to (nearly) everything that is Perl 6.

      Do you have nmake installed?

configure cpan..its a easiest way to install modules

      c:\> perl -MCPAN -e shell

type 'help' in the cpan shell
