    Or search this site... I think it's been discussed many times before.

    Whether it's good for *large* projects, I don't know. It's been suitable for the small/medium tasks I've done.

    I have just been trying Cava (http://www.cava.co.uk/) and getting working results. It's up to the requirements of this beginner.

    The other solutions are freeware. In the pay for it realm, there is ActiveState http://www.activestate.com/. Money may or may not be a factor for you so I thought a mention was worthwhile. I've used several versions of their PDK.
