Here is a question from a humble Initiate. I've used the system for a few days before asking, read all the help, etc.

Configuring Nodelets There are check boxes to add things like Other Users, voting booth, and Chatterbox, but no checkbox for remove. They are already displayed, so it seems there should be a remove! As it stands, it can't be changed because it only lets me add and they are already there. Huh?

Small Code I found the checkbox for "large code font" but it doesn't apply to replies. Those still too small to read easily.

Theme Configuration seems to have no effect.

Frontpage What is the difference between "frontpage" and "non-frontpage"?

TIA

With configuring nodelets, I see remove boxes for mine, on the left side.

I believe the large code font only applies to stuff found within the CODE tags.

Theme configuration requires that you load one more time for it to take effect. So select a theme, then hit 'talk' (for example) and you should see it.

The front page is 'The Monastery Gates', which is the first page you see when going to the site. Everything else is a non-frontpage.

A reply falls below the community's threshold of quality. You may see it by logging in.

On configuring Nodelets, until you have given some sort of preferences, you are using the default nodelets. If you go in and "add" a couple of nodelets, they should then be the ONLY ones you have. You will then have the ability to add new ones or to remove these that you have added.

You also gain the ability to set the order of the nodelets on your pages when you do this.

mpolo, thanks for a clear and useful answer to a question (why don't the check boxes show up) that although frustrating to me seems to have been unappreciated by many folks who voted it down.
