thenodemaster has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I really appreciate the help I received last time regarding getting my CGI script to run. Now, I am having another problem with the same script. The site that the script is on is Flash based with XML for data input. I am trying to put this CGI script into one of the XML pages so it will look like the rest of the site. I have several modules in the template this site is made from and one of them is a simple text module where I can display any sort of text I have, I am wating to embed the CGI script into this XML data file and display it within the FLASH page. With the below XML code and CGI script, how would I add the CGI script to the XML page to be executed when the module was run? Here is the XML data input file for the flash page:

About us
<text>
This is a text module - the text comes from an exte +rnal XML file.
You can also specify the image on the right. Spec +ial Characters àáâãäß é ê í ü. View Our Projects Main body of text goes here. </text>

The script by itself is here: node3d.servehttp.com/kwrgb.cgi Here is the CGI Script Code:

The web site that I am wanting to embed this script in (the script is a simply HTML form that feeds the input values to the code in the header and then output it to the same page) node3d.servehttp.com I am not sure if my google searches on the matter are just using the wrong terminology or what, but I figured if you guys were able to help me with figuring out my server config was wrong before that maybe you could help me with this. Thank you in advance. Scott

Re: CGI called from XML

    I am wanting to embed the CGI script into this XML data file and display it within the FLASH page.

    If I'm understanding correctly, the way to do this entirely depends on how the Flash program (the .swf) is written... In other words, we'd need to see the Flash source — OTOH, as this is primarily a Perl site, I suppose asking on a Flash discussion forum instead might yield better results... :)

      D'oh! Didn't even think of a flash forum! I was too focused on the CGI part. I will find a flash forum as well as take a look and see if I can get into the code of the swf object and post once I do. Tnx again! Scott
