Hello, I find it increasingly difficult to read the postings here, thru my web browser, the codes are way too small, can't find older threads, etc...

I'd like to know, if I can use a different reader, say a newsreader (or any other better way)? If there is any link that has some info, I'd be glad to take a look at it.

Thanks

Create an account, and change your display preferences. Or change your browser settings to something more sane. Most modern browsers come with ridiculously large default font settings (something like 16), but very small monospace settings (13 and below). Increase the monospace setting and the problem will go away on many, many sites, not just perlmonks.

You can find any thread using the search function, a google search restricted to perlmonks.org, or, if a thread contains a posting written by you, in the "Nodes You Wrote" list (of course, for the latter, you need an account).

Thanks Alexander, that was easy, I'll play with it now :)

(I'd have this eye burning after reading just one thread)

You can also copy and paste to your favorite application if that is possible. You can also subscribe XML feeds to various readers. http://www.perlmonks.org/?node_id=72241

Start writing a client for rendering perlmonks posts, I would write a client using SDL and C++ so that it will be fast but I don't have any sidekick or other person to help me out so I'm just going to forget that thought. Suggestions like yours have been many, it's true that the site has some problems but I think the strong point is that it's clean, it's a clean website without too much js or flash or whatever, just Perl stuff, which is ok. There are RSS feeds for Perlmonks but those just show the questions in SOPW or Meditations or whatever section but they don't show the follow-up messages... which is not very ok, then again, I don't know if the rss feeds would be good for that since they would overflow with maybe unnecessary information.
