elwoodblues has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi Monks,

I've been asked to add some features to a legacy app. It currently uses Geo::Coder::Google to return the lat/lon of locations, which is then used to construct a kml file of those pushpins. I'm now tasked with having it draw a route on google maps.

I doubt it is possible with that particular module, but is there another module or method that will allow me to enter two locations, and it will return, or draw on google maps a route between the points?

Please be nice, as I know little about google maps and geocodeing

      opps...Geo::Google doesn't work.

      I spent a few hours thinking it was me, then sent the developers a question. Seems they know it is broken, but don't have any intention of fixing it :-(

      I don't have the skills/expertise to figure out why it's busted, so that modules out

      Back to the drawing board

      Thanks. That looks like what I needed.

    I have never used Geo::Coder::Google but I recall you can draw routes on Google maps by using overlays, see "Polylines".

    Cheers
