sman has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hello everyone, It's very nice to find this website. I have a simple question and would like to hear advice from you guys. I just uploaded App-Cinema-1.11.tar.gz to my directory on PAUSE server. This file includes a catalyst application, which was tested well in my laptop. Can anyone nicely teach me what's the next step I should do? Can I see the GUI result of my website? Thanks for any comment.

I think your question should be more specific. What are you expecting to happen at this point?

I see that your stuff is now on CPAN at: App::Cinema, and it also shows up in the Recent list for today's date (17th January 2010). Those are good signs.

You should have received at least one acknowledgement email by now. If you receive emails from CPAN Testers, make sure to read them since they will alert you to any problems with your code. If any of your tests fail, you should try to fix the problem immediately.

As a sanity check, you could download and install your own code to make sure that all the files were included and the code works as expected.

Thanks, toolic. Your answer is great. I am a newbie on PAUSE and not very sure what I can and should do with it. So, the first step I plan to do is to upload my catalyst app and see if I can access it via my PAUSE domain name like this : http://search.cpan.org/~sman/App-Cinema-1.11/ However, apparently it ended up to show me the description of my modules like you mentioned in your reply. Do you know what should I do to see my app's homepage correctly?

You can see the "homepage" at http://search.cpan.org/~sman/App-Cinema-1.11/
It has probably reached all of the mirrors by now. (It's certainly visible at the mirror that I use.)

        Cheers,
        Rob
What do you mean by "app's homepage"?

I think the next logical step is to add documentation in POD format, increment your version number and upload it again so that people have some idea of what the module is intended to do.

Thanks for reply. That's what I plan to do in the next step. Is there any good example or tutorial teaching how to use POD ?
