How to find and rename file ?

What is the fastest way or the best way to find yesterday file only and rename file based on file date. The output file format will be in <filename>.YYYYMMDDHHMI format. Please refer my sample as below.

As example, below is the sample input file:-

-rw-rw-r--   3 acec       acec        722944 Jan 24 20:15 TTFILE003623
-rw-rw-r--   3 acec       acec        942080 Jan 24 21:15 TTFILE003624

and the result after renaming are:-

I would begin by writing a small program to first find the file(s) I was interested in, probably by doing Super Search and consulting some of the recent, promising-sounding hits, such as: How to find the most recent file? Search for oldest file in directories and its subdirectories How to read list of files based on date ? Then I'd move on to renaming. If I had problems with any of the code I'd written, I'd come back, post it here, and ask for specific tips on how to make it work. HTH, planetscape	[reply]
