Oracle with Perl

myuserid7 has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I need to connect to an oracle server from my linux based computer. What do I need to install on my machine? Which configurations are needed?

linux oracle client, DBI, DBD::Oracle. It is said that "only perl can parse Perl." I don't even come close until my 3rd cup of coffee. --MidLifeXis	[reply]

myuserid7: I usually install DBI and DBD::ODBC to talk with oracle servers. But there are other modules on CPAN as well... ...roboticus	[reply]
