Win32::OLE question

sri1230 has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Anyone written programs which can do the following with Win32::OLE

Look for all the folders and sub folders in the inbox and parse the To, from, subject and message info and copy the contact information of the sender to the contacts folder.

Need some help on how to recursively read the messages in all the sub folders in inbox and copying to contact folder. Any sample code will be helpful. I have not done much using Win32::OLE

I am using the Win32::OLE. I am also having the issue with gettting the actual email especially when i get something like <Last, First>(first.last@xxx.com). I need to get the actual emails not Last, First when i read through the messages

That's not a matter of Win32::OLE but far more a matter of the application you want to automate. You haven't told us about the application. Is it Microsoft Outlook? Then you will want to read the Microsoft Office Automation documentation, the Microsoft Office Object Model, and the Microsoft Outlook Object Model. If you want to automate receiving and handling mail that is not stored in an Exchange store or to which you can get IMAP access, the IMAP modules can handle that well.	[reply]

Perhaps Re: Perl to extract Outlook and load to SQL table would help. Failing that use super search to find more examples.	[reply]
