Short list, there is always something and I pick up incidental/incremental knowledge/skills here all the time-

    • Got my Moose legs. Put some into production code for the first time.
    • After almost 12 years of Perl finally learned to use unpack without having to ask for help.
    • Improved my understanding of sysadmin issues considerably; semi-willingly.
    • Learned to treat debugging methodically; as opposed to creatively, if that makes sense.

Considering the vastness of my ignorance regarding Perl, it is hard to pinpoint which of the many new things I have learned have occurred within the last 12 months. One thing I can do is an ls -lrt in my CPAN download directory to see what new modules I began using recently.

Acme::Tools is something I have been finding increasingly handy these days. Don't be fooled by the name; it is a serious module.
