create an excel file

abubacker has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I just want to create an excel file using perl ,
not only that I just want to insert the data into that,
and I also want to do some mathematical operations ,
I there any way to achieve this in perl ,
Please suggest some cpan module

In most cases, you will find that CPAN already provides an answer. In your case, Excel provides many results, as would a Google search. Have you looked at Spreadsheet::WriteExcel?	[reply]

If you are working in a Windows-environment, you will probably be happy with Win32::OLE. There are many resources online on how to use it with Excel. One of the best is this great node by cacharbe: Using Win32::OLE and Excel - Tips and Tricks. HTH, Rata	[reply]
